Philosopher Alain de Botton wrote on Twitter that “most of our childhood is stored not in photos, but in certain biscuits, lights of day, smells, textures of carpet”.
I can totally relate to that.
Another fantastic source of childhood memories are the sounds we loved when growing up. One area that induces a lot of my personal memories in terms of time spent with family and friends, places and contexts are the sounds of video games. Especially games from the 80’s.

Out of all the games I played when growing up, there is one with that extra nostalgia-inducing, emotional value: The Great Giana Sisters that I played on my Commodore 64. Listening to this intro brings me back a lot of wonderful memories.
